Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away on May 1, 2026. Age 95 years.

The daughter of the late Augustine and Conrada (Rodriguez) Rico was born on March 14, 1931, in Saginaw, Michigan. She was a graduate of Saginaw High School and worked as a Lab Technician, retiring after several years of dedicated service.

Virginia is survived by her son and daugther-in-law, James and Kim Ortiz, grandchildren: Amy (Jeff) McMurrich, James Ortiz Jr., and Anthony Ortiz; great-grandchildren: Kyle McMurrich, Bryanna McMurrich, Alexis Ortiz, Olivia Ortiz, James Ortiz III, Amaya Ortiz, Noah Ortiz, Reggie Ortiz, Jaxon Ortiz, Milo Ortiz, and Isabella Ortiz, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings.

Honoring Virginia's wishes cremation has taken place. No services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to the family c/o James Ortiz.
