Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Robert Leslie Kennedy II passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, service and deep devotion to those he held dear.
Born on May 23, 1930, Robert lived a full and meaningful life. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1947-1952 aboard the aircraft carrier USS Mindoro, affectionately known as the "The Mighty Minnie."
After his military service, Robert earned a degree in mechanical drafting from Ferris State University. He worked for many years at U.S. Graphite and Wright K Technology, where his skills and work ethic were highly respected.
On October 22, 1955, Robert married the love of his life, Laveria Mae Mishler. Their 69 years of marriage were filled with unwavering love, shared faith, and a growing family that brought them both endless joy. Together, they raised seven children: Robert and Vickie Kennedy, Julie (Kennedy) and Fred Bartlett, Bradley and Patty Kennedy, William and Jocelyn Kennedy, Brian and Marla Kennedy, Jenny (Kennedy) and Brian Gawne, and Benjamin and Dana Kennedy.
Robert was a devoted grandfather to 17 grandchildren and a proud great-grandfather to 25 great-grandchildren.
Though we grieve his passing, we celebrate a life well lived and find comfort in the promise of reunion. One day we will be together again, rejoicing in the presence of Christ, surrounded by family and friends.
