Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on February 20, 2025. Age 94 years. Dorthea was born on August 30, 1930, in Wheeler, Michigan.

Left to cherish her memory are her five children: Raymond Simmons, Linda Doan, Michael (Diane) Simmons, Thomas (Cindy) Simmons, and Daniel (Stephanie) Simmons; six grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, her sister Connie (Jack) Petersen, as well as many nieces, nephews and relatives.

Dorthea was preceded in death by her parents Samuel and Lulavene (Blackford) Powers, brother Bob Powers, son-in-law Greg Doan, and grandson Steve Simmons.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at W.L. Case and Company Funeral Directors 4480 Mackinaw Rd, Saginaw MI 48603. Thomas Simmons will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral chapel from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
