Denise was such a gift to all who knew her. She was loving, happy and enjoyed interacting with family and friends. She didn't judge and tried not to hurt a soul.

Denise passed away on December 10, 2025, at the age of 73 years. Denise was born on June 08, 1952 in Saginaw, MI, to the late Robert and Phyllis (Brown) Townsend Sr. She graduated from Hemlock High School, class of 1970. She married Donald S. Potter on September 8, 2002; he survives her. Denise worked as a Unit Secretary for St. Luke's/Covenant, retiring after 30 plus years. She loved QVC and invested well. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband Don. Denise also loved Country Western Music and going to concerts, especially Willie and Brooks & Dunn. Denise was a lifelong member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hemlock.

Denise is survived by her husband, Donald S. Potter, brother Robert "Bob" (Sue) Townsend Jr., sister-in-law, Sally L. Hornsby, nephews: Jonathan D. (Katie) Townsend and Michael D. (Sandy) Hornsby, step-daughter Eleanor K. Gilbert, step-son, Donald T Jaworowitz, great-nieces and nephews: Nathan Hornsby, Kenley and Karsyn Townsend; grandchildren: Tara and Ryan Gilbert.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, December 15, 2025, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 2461 N. Raucholz Road, Hemlock, MI 48626. Rev. Dr. William L. Morris will officiate. Burial will take place at Floral Gardens Cemetery in Bay City. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the church from 9:00 am until the time of service. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or St. Peter Lutheran Church.
