Danny "Dan" E. Lamping Age 78, went home to be with Jesus on December 29, 2025, at Avielle Haven, Midland, Michigan, surrounded by his family.
Dan was born on November 15, 1947, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Earl and Opal (Everett) Lamping. He graduated from Hemlock High School, class of 1965. He proudly served in the United States Air Force, being honorably discharged after four years of service. On December 23, 1966, he married Elizabeth "Betty" Poling; she predeceased him on April 17, 2021. Dan worked as an electrician for Werth Engineering for many years and retired from Merritech. He was an active member of the Saginaw Valley Church of the Nazarene. A true handyman, Dan enjoyed building and fixing things. He loved helping others, volunteering through his church. Above all, Dan cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters and a son, Danette (Mike) Bliss, Saginaw, Kim (Dean) Doane, Flushing, and Parker Lee Lamping, Grand Rapids, along with seven grandchildren, Mikayla (Will) Koepke, Brianna, Zachary, and Mackenzie Bliss and Derek, Chloie, and Shaylyn Doane; brother Keith (Norie) Lamping; sister Judith Tyler.
Along with his wife and parents, Dan was preceded in death by a brother Ron Lamping.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Saginaw Valley Church of the Nazarene, 1815 Tittabawassee Rd, Saginaw, MI 48604. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends and family will be received from 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Friday, January 2, 2026, at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd., Saginaw, MI 48603, as well as, Saturday morning at the church from 10:00 am until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Saginaw Valley Church of the Nazarene Youth Group.
