Beloved father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on August 9, 2026, at Covenant HealthCare, at the age of 97 years. The son of the late Oliver and Marie (Wegner) was born on August 22, 1928, in Saginaw, MI. He married Mary Smith on October 11, 1947; she predeceased him on September 9, 2004. Daniel worked as an assembler at A.T. Ferrell, retiring after many years of dedicated service. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Frankenmuth. An avid outdoorsman, Daniel enjoyed camping and hunting, as well as gardening. Above all, Daniel enjoyed time spent with his family. He cherished every visit and always looked forward to his weekly trips with his children going to lunch and grocery shopping.

Surviving are his children: Mary Lou (Tom) Kaekel, Gary (Darlene) Klemish, and Bruce (Patrick Schlosser) Klemish; grandchildren: Melissa, and Alan Kaekel, Katie (Paul) Clark, Jason and Christopher Klemish; a sister, Jane Ross; daughter-in-law, Brenda; as well as several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Along with his wife and parents he was predeceased by a son, Robert Klemish; brother Fred (Alma) Klemish; and sisters Alice (Bill) Fox and Doris (Arthur) Vogel.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 14, 2026, at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 5700 Dixie Highway, Saginaw, MI 48601. Rev. Matt Moldstad will officiate with burial to follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with the family on Friday morning from 9:00 am until the time of service.
