Our beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, Great Great Grandmother and sister went home to be with the Lord on Sunday August 16th 2026. Age 97 years. Carmen Zamora Arizo was born on December 24th 1928 in Maxwell, Texas to the late Nestor and Carmen (Mosqueda) Zamora. She married her one and only love Mariano C. Arizo on May 24th 1947 in Half Moon Bay, California.
Carmen was a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church for many years. Her prayers and faith were rooted into her family. She had a flair for fashion and enjoyed a girls day shopping with family. She enjoyed playing bingo and had a nurturing spirit and deep appreciation for gardening and flowers and all the colors and beauty they gave her. In many ways her love of flowers reflected the woman she was, which was gentle, caring and full of love. Above all else her family was her greatest joy. So much of her love was expressed through the things she did, especially the meals she lovingly prepared. Her unconditional love created memories that her family will carry in their hearts forever. She will always be remembered for the beautiful caring spirit and love she poured into her family.
Surviving to cherish her memory are 3 children, Alex (Gloria) Arizo, Adelita (Lou) Wojcik and Benita (Robert) Ortega. Nine grandchildren Christina (James) Featherston, Mike Arizo, Gina (Jose) Teneyuque, Adel Marin, Jennifer (David) Stockman, Charles (Sarah) Burey, Tina Padilla, Yolanda (Kevin) Bidwell and Ericka Carmen Burey. 21 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren. One sister Benita Castillo. Many nieces and nephews and two very special friends, Debra Dillard and Betsy Little. She was preceded in death by her husband Mariano C. Arizo, one son Mariano T. Arizo, one daughter Elma Z. Arizo, one son in law Robert Ortega and one great granddaughter Linda Teneyuque, three brothers Carlos Zamora, Eusebio Zamora, Tito Zamora and three sisters Teodolo Vargas, Delfina Garcia and Delores Derige. Her family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Covenant Hospital, especially Steven.
