Obituary

Passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at Bay County Medical Care Facility. Age 91 years. Bonnie was born on July 8, 1935, in Carrollton, MI, to the late Frederick and Hilma (Mikalaizik) Lamb. She married Gordon Gagnon on August 8, 1953. Bonnie's greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved caring for others. Her family and friends were always welcomed into her home for a good meal or a competitive game of cards, in which she was a bit of a shark. Bonnie also loved spending time at the casino and enjoyed instant lottery tickets. In her younger years she was an avid bowler and even coached children's bowling. She also volunteered with the Special Olympics. Bonnie spent the last year of her life at Bay County Medical Care Facility, making the most of her time there. She enjoyed the many activities offered, especially Bingo, and made many wonderful friends, especially Kathy Gohr.

Left to cherish Bonnie's memory are her daughter, Dawn (Rick) Gould, granddaughters: Stephanie (Kyle) Ecker, Sydney (Brendan) Van Dam, and Rikki (Curtis) Butterfield; grandson, Joshua (Erin) Gould, many great -grandchildren, very special niece, Marcia Gagnon and great-niece, Amanda Alberts, sisters-in-law, Carolyn Lamb and Carolyn Schultz.

Bonnie was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Gordon, her son, Gordon Gagnon Jr., parents, Hilma and Frederick Lamb, parents-in-law, Leo and Margaret Gagnon, siblings, Margaret Saladine and James Lamb, siblings-in-law: Leo (Martha) Gagnon, James (Lois) Gagnon, Joyce (Keith) Ostrander, and Richard Schultz; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Bay County Medical Care Facility for the wonderful care Bonnie received. They would also like to express a special thank you to Marcia, Mary, Michele, and Mary Jo for being there for her through the hard stuff.

Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11:30 am on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State St, Saginaw, MI 48603. Rev. Fr. Steve Gavit will officiate with entombment to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family at the church Tuesday morning from 10:30 am until the time of service.
