Betty Jane Thompson

Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on July 28, 2025, at HealthSource Saginaw at the age of 96 years. Betty was born on July 31, 1928, in Saginaw, MI, to the late Philip and Mary (Claus) Daubert. Betty married Lyman C. Thompson on September 15, 1956; he predeceased her on April 10, 2007. She worked as a lab tech for Saginaw General Hospital. After retirement she worked for Dollar Tree.

Family was at the center of Betty's life. Every birthday, holiday, and special occasion called for a large family gathering. She was very generous and nurturing, always making sure her family was taken care of. Betty also enjoyed going on walks and loved to dance.

Betty is survived by two daughters: Mary Thompson (Barry) and Cynthia Mahan; grandchildren: Elizabeth (Cameron) Mahan, Theresa Mahan, Anna Mahan(Jimmy), Daniel Mahan, and Sarah (Adam) Saj; great-grandchildren: Blake Bieri, Adella Carnahan, Aniah Bethea, Josephine Bethea, and Harrison; brother Roy Belill, many nieces and nephews, and neighbor and best friend Olga.

Along with her husband she was predeceased by her son Charles Thompson, siblings: Phillip (Mary) Daubert, Robert (Jean) Daubert, Adam (Beverly) Daubert, Ann (Dale) Martin, Edward Belill, Dorothy McCollum and James Daubert.

The family would like to thank the staff at HealthSource and Heartland Hospice for the wonderful care they gave to Betty.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Road, Saginaw, MI, 48603. Friends are welcome to visit with the family from 11:00 am until the time of service. Private burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.
