Yvonne Gilman

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Yvonne A. Gilman. A beloved mother, grandmother, wife and cherished friend. She went to be with the Lord, peacefully surrounded by family on August 12,2025 at Covenant Cooper CVICU, after a lengthy illness.

She was born on July 17,1953, in Saginaw Michigan to the late Joan and William Girard. She graduated from Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic High School in 1971. She worked at St. Luke’s hospital as a Candy Striper. She met her future husband in Bridgeport at a restaurant called Triggin’s in 1974. They married on January 11, 1975. Later that year, they welcomed their daughter Mandy and then in 1980, welcomed their son Jason. After the birth of her children, she stayed at home to raise them.

Yvonne enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino, playing slot machine games on the computer, cheering on the Detriot Tiger’s, spending time with family and most of all playing heated games of Uno and board games with her grandson Logan.

She will be greatly missed by her family and her willingness to be there for her family whenever they needed her.

She is survived by her husband David Gilman, son Jason Gilman, daughter Mandy Rappley (Scott), grandson Logan Rappley, sister Laura Graves (Florida), sister-in-law Dawn Pinnell (Jeff), brother-in-law Robert Gilman (Wanda), and brother-in-law Richard Gilman (Wendy). She was predeceased by her mother Joan Girard, father William Girard, mother-in-law Virginia Gilman and father-in-law John Gilman.

Arrangements entrusted to W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors.  Please share your words of condolences with the family at www.casefuneralhome.com
