Yvonne Marie Gibbon of Saginaw, Michigan
Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, September 12, 2025, at HealthSource of Saginaw. She was 90 year old. Yvonne Marie Rousseau was born on March 28, 1935, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Joseph and Flossie (VanBrunt) Rousseau. She was raised and lived in Saginaw throughout her life. Through a future brother-in-law, she met the love of her life, James Alfred Gibbon. They began dating, fell in love, and were married on October 6, 1956, celebrating 35 years of marriage; he preceded her in death December 26, 1991. As a young lady, Yvonne enjoyed spending time with her two sisters dancing and listening to polka and country music at the Evergreen. She worked for six years at a local bakery, then an additional six years as a nurse’s aide at a nursing home. The role she cherished the most was to be a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Yvonne treasured her family, but having grandchildren made her heart feel full. She took great pride in helping care for, as well as babysitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren while everyone was working. When Yvonne wasn’t spending time with her family, she enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and working on puzzle books.
Surviving are a daughter, Linda (Robert French) Louchart of Reese; Kevin (Adriana) Gibbon of Hemlock; 11 grandchildren: James (Cindy) Louchart, Laura (Jason) Jimenez, Jason (Maria) Louchart, Melissa Louchart, Robert (Leemarie) French, Erica (Dr. Andrew) Rubin, Eric (Sara) Gibbon, Courtney (Colton) Wiegand, Caleb (Tori) Grund, Flavia (Robin) Grover, and Marcus Grund; 35 great-grandchildren with two on the way; a brother, Emil (Diana) Rousseau of AZ. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Gibbon; a son, Joseph Alfred Gibbon; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Gibbon; grandson, Shane Grund; two sisters: Dorine (Norm) Gibbon and Josephine (Leroy) Fritz.
