Scaife, William R. Saginaw, Michigan Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away Friday, December 13, 2013, at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Age 78 years. He was born April 26, 1935, in Federal, Pennsylvania. He served with the US Marines, US Air Force, and the US Navy, retiring after 20 years of service. He received his Associates Degree from Delta College. He retired from Cox Cable Company and then became self-employed as a cable contractor. He was a member of American Legion Post #439, a life-member of VFW Post #1566, and a member of the L.O.O.M. #82. He also enjoyed bowling. He married Phyllis (Acker) Eddy on August 21, 1981; she survives him. He also leaves four children, Ray Eddy Jr. (Graceann), Robert Eddy (Vickie), Debra Reyes (David), and Cheryl Schmidt; eleven grandchildren, Ray Eddy III (Shannon), Michael Eddy (Melanie Curran), Gina Dietzel (Jerry), Robert Eddy II, Sara Clouden (Devin), Todd Eddy (Heather), Joe Reyes (Giselle Comacho), Ashley Reyes, Kristie Kiley (Mike), Amanda Schmidt (Dan Vallad), and Brent Schmidt (Alyssa Reimus); nineteen great-grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter due this month; sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Ball (Nick) and Joan Chaltraw; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son-in-law, Brent Schmidt. Cremation has taken place. A military honors will take place at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at the W. L. Case and Co.
