Passed away Friday, February 28, 2014 at his home with his family at his side. William was born August 24, 1938 in Flint, MI the son of the late Charles and Beatrice (Fortier) LaLonde. He married Marie "Beany" LaFrenier July 10, 1965. She predeceased him July 21, 2010. William served in the United States Army. He was a gifted musician who enjoyed playing country music on his guitar. In 1992, Bill was inducted into the Tri-City Hall of Fame. He also enjoyed fishing, going to rummage sales, playing cards and collecting match box cars and models. He loved to spend time with his kids and grand kids. Bill is survived by three daughters, Patti (Steve) Yother, Fairgrove, Barb LaLonde, Michigan and Sandi (Marty) Balcom, San Antonio, Texas; three grandchildren, Tasha LaLonde (Steven Phelps), Michael and David Balcom; a sister, Janet (Mark) Godi; many, many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, William was predeceased by two brothers, Gerald and Tom LaLonde; two sisters, Faye Ann LaLonde and Judy Jacobs. The funeral service will take place 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at W. L. Case & Company, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. Rob Richards will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with military services under the auspices of VFW Post No. 1859, Carrollton. Friends may visit with the family at the chapel Tuesday from 2:00 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service.
