Wanda Louise Tessin
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully at her home on May 10, 2025, surrounded by her family and friends.
Wanda was born to Robert and Ida Schroeder and was raised by them until Roberts' passing when Wanda was 8 years old. Her mother then married Carl Hyatt who raised Wanda from then on.
Wanda met the love of her life, David Tessin, in high school. They were married on October 1, 1960.
Wanda spent several years running her own business, Quality Engraving Services. In her free time, she was working in her garden, canning every vegetable she could think of, or baking her famous cinnamon rolls. She was a long time member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hemlock.
Surviving her is her husband of almost 65 years; Dave Tessin, her 3 children; Sue (Matt) Kackmeister, Steve (Ranee) Tessin, and Dan Tessin, her 9 grandchildren; Katelyn, Brooke, Rebecca, Thomas, Lauren, Chandler, Nolan, Ethan, and Logan, a special great-granddaughter, and a great-grandson on the way. She is also survived by her siblings; Grace Spann, Ruth Woollard, and Lester Hyatt, and several other family members and dear friends.
She is predeceased by her parents, a granddaughter, Jessica Tessin, and other family and friends.
The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice, especially Wanda’s care team, for all that they’ve done to support Wanda and her family over the last 3 years.
Honoring Wanda’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 2461 N. Raucholz Road, Hemlock, MI 48626. Rev. Dr. William L. Morris will officiate. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the W. L. Case and Company, 201 N. Miller Rd., Saginaw, MI 48609, on Friday, May 16, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Join the family on Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. while they sing a song held near and dear to Wanda’s heart, “In The Garden”. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Heartland Hospice or St. Peter Lutheran Church. Please share your thoughts and memories with the family at the funeral home, church or through www.casefuneralhome.com.
