     Passed away Thursday, April 13, 2023, at his home.  Age 74 years.

     The son of the late Julia Ann (Johann) and Walter Ernest Kemerer Sr. was born April 6, 1949, in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Ruth Ann Grew, May 17, 2007. She survives him.  Walter graduated from Arthur Hill High School, Class of 1967 where he played violin in the band and was on the swim team and ran track. He graduated from  Eastern Michigan University in 1971, receiving his Medical Technology degree. He was employed by Saginaw Medical Center for 31 years, and as Lab Manager for Hills and Dale Hospital and retired from the Aleda Lutz Veteran’s Hospital in 2017.  He participated in Coagulation and Hematology conferences and seminars with Dr. Hughes. He was of the Catholic Faith and had been active in Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Chesaning.  He was active with the Boy Scouts for many years. He enjoyed fly fishing with his brothers, camping with his family and hunting with his wife. Most of all, he loved riding his Goldwing Motorcycle. 

    Surviving besides his wife, Ruth Ann, are his children, Rachel (Leon) Drake; Stacey (Vic) Kemerer; Jason Grew; William (Jessica) Kemerer; Sara (C.J.) Grew and all the children they adopted; a grandson, Liam; his brothers and sister,  Denis (Sharleen) Kemerer; Ronald (Eileen) Kemerer; Richard (Jan) Kemerer; John(Kay) Kemerer; his adopted sister, Sheila Clark; many nieces, nephews and special friends. He was also predeceased by a nephew, Chris Kemerer.

    The funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Thursday April 20, 2023 at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. with cremation to follow. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Saginaw Valley Hospice. www.casefuneralhome.com
