Walter Carl Fehn Jr.

Walter Carl Fehn Jr., age 81, of Hemlock, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2025.

Walter was born in Saginaw, Michigan on May 5, 1944, to the late Walter Carl Fehn Sr. and Betty Ione (Brush) Fehn. He graduated from Hemlock High School class of 1962. Working on the farm was his first love. He co-founded and co-owned Video Showcase in Shields, operating the video store for many years with his wife, Janet. Many memories were made as the owner of Walt’s Printing and also as a milk truck driver. He worked for Dow Chemical, retiring from there in 2006.

Walter was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hemlock. He belonged to the Michigan Trap Shooters Association. As a member of the Saginaw Field and Stream Club, he coached junior trap shooters and helped build the club’s website. Lots of laughter and some good stories came from his deer hunting days and love of the outdoors. He enjoyed woodworking and making projects come to life for his family.

Walter was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who loved attending his children’s and grandchildren’s events. He coached baseball for them and enjoyed being a statistician for the teams. Walter was quick with a joke, a warm smile and cheerful greeting.

Walter is survived by his loving wife Janet (Kade) Fehn. They were united in marriage on October 10, 1964. He leaves to cherish his memory, two children, Brian (Kelley) Fehn and Gary (Lynn) Fehn; five grandchildren: Emily and Rev. Benjamin Leeper, Katie Fehn, Madison Fehn, Hunter Fehn, and Ryan Fehn; his brother Larry and Pat Fehn; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews,and cousins.

Visitation will take place from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 7, 2025, at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 201 N Miller Rd, Saginaw, MI 48609. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 2461 N Raucholz Rd, Hemlock, MI 48626, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Rev. Michael Speckhard will officiate the service, with interment to follow in Richland Lutheran Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Valley Lutheran High School.
