Obituary

Walter Skibin Freeland, Michigan Went to be with his Lord, Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at HealthSource Saginaw following a lengthy illness. Age 90 years. The son of the late John and Annette (Znaniecki) Skiginski was born August 7, 1927 in Alpena, Michigan. He served in the Merchant Marines which took him to many ports throughout the world. He was employed by CSX and was Captain of the SS. Badger, the ferry which sailed from Ludington, Michigan across Lake Michigan and back, carrying passenger and freight. He was a former member of the Washington Club in Saginaw. He was active with A.A. Surviving is his fiancee, Norma Hutchinson, whom he had known for many years; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 4 brothers and sisters. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 4, 2018, at the W.L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. with burial in Owen Cemetery. Friends may call at the Chapel from 9:00 a.m. Thursday until the time of the funeral service.
