Moucandimithes (Stoumbos), Mrs. Voula (Paraskevi) Saginaw, Michigan Our beloved, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend went home to be with the Lord on November 30, 2012 in her home at the age of 80. Voula, the daughter of Loukas and Violeta Stoumbos, was born on March 27, 1932 in Korkelio, Greece. She moved to Saginaw in 1968 with her family. Voula married Kostandinos Moucandimithes, the love of her life, in Greece. Kostandinos predeceased her in death on August 28, 1974 at the young age of 42.Voula cherished his memory and he lived in her heart throughout her life. She had formerly worked for her brothers who owned The Savoy Famous Restaurant and and for her cousins at Howard-Johnson's Restaurant and Johnnie's Chick-Inn in Saginaw. She enjoyed reading, cooking, sewing, watching Greek movies, but most of all caring for her family and friends. Voula was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church. She has been a long-time member of the women's Philoptochos Society. Voula also enjoyed volunteering her time and efforts at the Greek Festival of Saginaw by baking and making honey puffs. Over the course of her life, Voula never ceased to put the needs of her family and friends before her own. She did everything she possibly could for them. She was a very giving, caring, and loving person. Surviving are one daugher Leta (Douglas) Povich of Saginaw; a son-in-law Bill (Anastasia) Nikolakopoulos of Greece; a brother George (Anna) Stoumbos Sr. of Saginaw; a Sister Poleto Kavangas of Greece; Her loving grandchildren Joyce, Voula, Kosta, great-grandchildren Anastasia & Theodore; many dear cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Along with her husband, Voula was predeceased in death by her daughter Anastasia (Soula) Nikolakopouloslos on November 15, 2004 at the tender age of 47, and her brother Harry L. Stoumbos on February 21, 2005. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 4970 Mackinaw Rd. Fr. Irenaeus Cox will officiate with burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the W. L. Case and Company, Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Tuesday, December 4, 2012 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. where a Trisagion service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider an offering to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Voula's Memory. www.casefuneralhome.com
