Cole, Virginia "Babe" Merrill, Michigan Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 27, 2016, age 88 years. She was born on February 3, 1927, daughter of the late William and Irene (Johnson) Bigelow, in Gratiot County. Virginia married Carl W. Cole on September 15, 1943, he predeceased her on June 21, 2008. She was a member of Breckenridge Wesleyan Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, flower gardening, cooking and spending time with her loving family. She is survived by her son, Jeffrie (Judith) Cole; her daughter, Pamela (James) Duncan; her grandchildren, Brent (Bobbi) Cole, Lisa May, Stacie Cole, Rick (Sue) Morrison, Ron (Chandra) Morrison, Teresa (Dwayne) Bailey, Chad (Christine) Duncan and Cindy Duncan; 17 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; her siblings, Beverly (Lindy) Fillhard, Larry (Donna) Bigelow, Janice (Gayle) Deveraux, Jean (John) Welsh, Sharon (Don) Furgeson, Terry (Sande) Bigelow; also many other special relatives and friends. Besides her husband, Carl and her parents, she was predeceased by her infant daughter, Judith Lynn Cole and her brothers, Gerald Bigelow and Carlisle Bigelow. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 1, 2016 at W. L. Case and Company, 125 E. Saginaw Street, in Merrill. Her son-in-law, Jim Duncan will officiate with burial in Lakefield Township Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
