Passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, June 22, 2017, at home surrounded by her family at the age of 48 years. Gina was born May 14, 1969, in Saginaw, Michigan. She graduated from St. Charles High School in 1987 and from SVSU in 1995. She was proud to have made the Deans List while being a single mom. Gina worked at General Motor Power Train (Grey Iron) since October 23, 1997, where she held various union positions. She always gave her time freely and volunteered with the Underground Railroad, United Way board of directors, and chairperson for the UAW 668 Community service committee. In 2006 she received the United Way Labor Volunteer of the year award. Gina enjoyed the Detroit Tigers and Lions. She was a die-hard U of M fan and held season football tickets-Go Blue! She also enjoyed time up north at her cabin. She married Jason Wiederhold on November 20, 2009; he survives her. Besides her husband she will be dearly missed by her daughter, Kaleigh (Craig) Root; parents, Pete (Aleatha) Rendon and Benita (Chuck) Rendon-Murray; siblings, Ron (Amy) Rendon and Tanya Rendon; parents-in-law, Tom and Margaret Wiederhold; brothers-in-law, Todd (Vicki) Wiederhold and Casey (Wendy) Wiederhold; nieces and nephews, Jacqueline, Gabrielle, Samantha, Alex, Selina, Kirsten, Brandon, David, and Abigail; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 29, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church 910 N. 6th St. Saginaw, Michigan. Fr. Frank Voris will officiate with cremation to follow. Friends may visit with the family at W.L. Case & Company 4480 Mackinaw Rd on Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. where the family will gather at 7:00 p.m. for a prayer service. Friends may also visit with the family at church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
