Obituary

Violet Harden, a cherished member of the Saginaw community , passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026, in Saginaw, Michigan. Born on August 25, 1932, in Toledo, Ohio, Violet led a life rich with love, dedication, and warmth that touched all who knew her.

Violet was known not only for her exceptional homemaking skills but also for her delightful personality, filled with humor and cheer. She was a gifted joke teller who brought laughter to many, a devoted fan of University of Michigan football, and a familiar and beloved presence at Tony's Restaurant on State Street, where she knew everyone by name. Her community involvement was equally noteworthy; she was a proud member of both Job's Daughters and the Eastern Star, organizations that reflected her commitment to fellowship and service.

Her life was marked by deep family devotion. Violet is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Jan (Rick) Bonnau and Sandy (Perry) Campau, who carry forward her legacy of kindness and resilience. She also leaves behind beloved grandchildren, Jacob (Allie) Campau and Joy (Mike) Bonnau-Poling; and great-grandchildren, Autum Poling and Cooper Campau, and Luke Campau who brought immense joy to her later years. two brother's Jerry Hartwig and Bobby Hartwig, her sister Patty Andrews, and her sister-in-law Lorraine Hartwig. Her life was enriched by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will fondly remember her warmth and wit.

Violet was preceded in death by her husband, Henry J. Harden Jr., and her daughter, Jill Anne Harden. She also mourned the loss of seven siblings: Marge (Charles) York, Tom (Ronnie) Hartwig, Bonnie Henderson, Arthur (Kay) Hartwig, Eleanor (Bob) Mead, Jim Hartwig, and Dick Hartwig.

A visitation to honor Violet’s memory will be held on June 17, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, located at 121 Harrison in Saginaw, Michigan. This will be followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the same location, concluding at noon. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Alzheimer's Association of Michigan.
