Vincent Peter Vallier, Saginaw, MI 

Passed away on Tuesday, April 16th, 2024, at the age of 92. He was born in the Upper Peninsula town of Engadine, Michigan, to the late Edmund & Clara (Proton) Vallier and was a graduate of the 1949 class of Engadine High School. Vincent served in the Korean War as part of the 187th Airborne Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division of the U.S. Army from 1952 until 1955, when he was honorably discharged. Vincent met his wife Rose (Zenker) in high school and the two married on November 22nd, 1953, while Vincent was on leave from the Army. Rose preceded him in death on August 15, 2022. 

Upon his discharge from the Army, Vincent & Rose moved to the Lower Peninsula of Michigan and eventually settled in Saginaw, Michigan. Vincent worked for his uncle Otto Taylor in Saginaw, Michigan and later for the Steadman Construction Co. in Bay City, MI., as a project superintendent in the underground construction business. 

Vincent enjoyed boating, snowmobiling, and traveling throughout the U.S. and Canada, winters in Florida, and visiting with his many family members and friends. 

In his later years he enjoyed reading any type of novel and his beloved Newberry News as well as watching sports with his son, Daniel. 

Vince is survived by his sons: Stephen Vallier, Michael Vallier, David (Holly) Vallier and Daniel Vallier; grandchildren: Christine (Kurt) Engelhardt, Adam (Kimber) Vallier, Katie Vallier, Sarah (Brandon) Furstenberg, Stephanie Vallier, and Danielle Vallier; great grandchildren: Bayly (Luke) Gehrig, Audrey Engelhardt, Valerie Engelhardt, Braylon Vallier, and Colton Vallier; brother, John Vallier and sister-in-law, Nancy Vallier; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members and friends. 

Vincent was preceded in death by siblings: Edmund (Norma), Bernard (Adna Grace), Lawrence, (Betty), Maryellen (Joseph Sadovich), Rita (William McAllister), Joseph (Peggy Ann), Shirley (Sam Frontino), Janice (Ronald Penton) and Kenneth (Nancy). 

A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, April 22, 2024, at St. Dominic Parish, St. Stephen Catholic Church 1310 Malzahn St., Saginaw, MI, 48602. Rev. Fr. Steve Gavit will officiate. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the W.L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Road, Saginaw, Michigan, 48603, on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Military Honors and burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens under the auspices of the United States Army and American Legion Post 22. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to The Fowler Center.
