Obituary

Our loving mother and grandmother went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 9, 2021. Age 89 years.

Victoria was born on July 28, 1932, daughter of the late Irene (Martinez) and Evaristo Salas, in Poteet, Texas. She married Gregory Torres on November 1, 1953. He predeceased her on November 7, 2008. She had worked for Hoffman’s Farm for ten years. Victoria was a member of Harvest Assembly of God and its Women’s Ministry. She gave her life to the Lord at 12 years old and was a strong woman of faith. She loved to read her Bible, even as her eyesight diminished, she still managed to get her readings done. Victoria loved and cared for her family. She enjoyed cooking big dinners for her family to come eat after Sunday service. She enjoyed the holidays and spending time with her family. Victoria was a peacemaker and encourager, speaking life into those who were in her presence. Her favorite quotes were “Jesus is coming” and “Tomorrow is a better day”.

Victoria will be missed by her daughters, Marti Litvinskas, Ruth (Guillermo) Perez, Dinah (Salvador) Guerra, Delia Gonzalez, and Anna (Ramiro) Guerra; her grandchildren, Michael (Angelina) Litvinskas, Kelly (Jeremiah) Warner, Gregory (Julisa) Litvinskas, Lisa (Simon) Vasquez, Rachael (Andres) Hernandez, Jeremiah (Mary) Duron, Jamie ( Jose) Torres, Jason (Melissa) Duron, Jonathon (Sophia) Duron, Christina Gonzalez, Monica Gonzalez, Miguel (Alison) Gonzalez, Noel Torres, Hannah Lee Guerra and Ramiro (Cassandra) Guerra; 35 great grandchildren; brother, Frank Salas; sister, Margaret Chavarria.
