Vicki Engel, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away on February 7, 2026, in her hometown of Saginaw, at the age of 78 years.
Born to the late Robert and Ruth (Wood) Buggia, Vicki was born on April 16, 1947, in Saginaw. She graduated from Douglas MacArthur High School, the class of 1965. She married Leonard Engel on October 5, 1975, and together built a strong partnership rooted in love and support. Leonard passed away on November 3, 2023.
Vicki was an artist, creating several items for family and friends across the country. She extended this vision outside as well, being an avid gardener. She was a Master Gardener and took part in several gardening clubs around Saginaw including the Saginaw Valley Master Gardener’s club and the Saginaw Woman’s National Farm and Garden Association. Ever adventurous, Vicki and Len enjoyed traveling together, and traveled around the United States and enjoyed new experiences and cultures.
Surviving are her children: Kevin Wolff, Carissa Wolff, and Justin L. Engel, her grandchildren: Samantha and Zachary, her siblings: Robert Buggia, Joseph “Dino” Buggia, Virginia “Ginger” (Mike) Fila, and her half-sister Marianne Denniston and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends including her faithful companion, Tashi. Besides her parents and husband, Vickie was predeceased by her daughter-in-law Soon Mi Wolff and her sister Connie Jo Buggia.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. with burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Pastor Jim Doran will officiate. Friends may visit with the family on Monday, February 16, 2026, at the funeral chapel from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider your local animal shelter.
