Passed away on Friday, September 22, 2017 just shy of her 88th birthday. Veronica Humpert was born on September 24, 1929 in Saginaw to the late Henry and Marie (Massicotte) Humpert. She married Bernard Yaklin on September 23, 1950; he predeceased her on March 17, 2017. She was a member of St. Dominic Parish. Veronica enjoyed traveling, trips to the casino and most especially enjoyed time with her family. Surviving are her children: Dwayne (Jody) Yaklin, Deborah (Steve) Kabat, Dale Yaklin, Karen (Earl) Yaklin, Don (Teresa) Yaklin, and Janice Yaklin; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and her siblings: Catherine Welsh, Rita Humpert, Thomas Humpert, Frances Eickholt and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her son, Terry Yaklin, her sister Maryann Cox and brothers: Joseph, George, and Albert Humpert. Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 28, 2017, at St. Dominic Parish, SS Peter and Paul Church, 4735 W. Michigan Avenue. Fr. John Johnson will officiate. Entombment will take place later at Mt. Olivet Mausoleum. Friends may visit with the family at the W. L. Case Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and on Thursday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the liturgy. A vigil service will be held on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy may consider St. Dominic Parish.
