Timothy James McMahon

Timothy James McMahon, a lifelong resident of Merrill, Michigan, passed away on his 80th birthday surrounded by his loved ones.

Born on February 8, 1944, in Saginaw, Michigan, Tim dedicated himself to a career as a millwright with Saginaw Steering Gear for over 30 years. Alongside his professional endeavors, he selflessly served as a volunteer firefighter with the Jonesfield Lakefield Township Fire Department for over three decades.

Tim's relentless work ethic and commitment to his community were unparalleled. As a millwright, he displayed immense skill and dedication in his craft, earning the admiration and respect of his colleagues. His passion for firefighting allowed him to safeguard and protect the lives of those around him. Timy's altruistic nature shone through in both his professional and volunteer work.

Outside of work, Tim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His caring and compassionate nature endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him. Tim's warm smile and kind-hearted personality radiated joy wherever he went.

In his leisure time, Tim enjoyed indulging in various interests that brought him immense happiness. As an avid deer hunter, he relished in the thrill of the hunt and cherished the peaceful moments spent in nature. Tinkering in the barn allowed him to showcase his creative side and hone his handyman skills. Reading and music were constant companions that provided comfort and inspiration throughout his life.

Tim's passing leaves behind a void that can never be filled. He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 59 years, Helen; three sons: Greg (Chris) McMahon, Matthew (Darcy) McMahon, and Timothy McMahon, Jr. He also leaves behind four brothers: Dan (Laura) McMahon, Bob McMahon, Jerry McMahon; Brian (Frank) McMahon, Mary Jo McMahon; five grandchildren: Patrick (Sully), Katherine, Margaret, Matthew (Mickey), Gracen. Numerous nieces and nephews also have the privilege of carrying Tim's memory in their hearts.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Tim's trail-riding friend, Kurt Miller, as well as many of his buddies.
