Our loving wife and mother passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2019. Age 81 years. She was born on January 17, 1938, daughter of the late Isabel (Emrick) and Leslie McQuillin, in Minneapolis, Minnesota and was raised in McGregor, Iowa. Susan married Norman Sterchele on August 30, 1959. He survives her. She had earned a Bachelors Degree in English from Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa. She loved to sing and was proud of being in a group called Ollis Follies with Saginaw Valley State University. Susan had been a real estate agent in the Saginaw area with Century 21 and Berkshire Hathaway for many years. She was an avid scrabble player, enjoyed watching Jeopardy, gardening and singing. Susan will be missed by her husband of 59 years, Norman Sterchele; children, David (Jennifer) Sterchele and Katherine (Jerome) Strasz; grandchildren, Rachel and Sarah Sterchele. Memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at Christ The Good Shepherd Parish, St. Helen Church, 2445 N. Charles. Fr. Ronald Wagner will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Saginaw County Humane Society.
