Otto, Susan K. (Knief) Saginaw, MI Passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2016, at the age of 72 years. Susan K. Knief was born February 18, 1944, in Saginaw to the late Walter and Ione (Uecker) Knief. On July 28, 1973, she married W. Gerber Otto and he predeceased her on December 20, 2011. After her graduation from Arthur Hill High School and attaining her Bachelor's degree from Central Michigan University, Susan taught at the St. Mary's Cathedral school. She was also a travelling art teacher for a number of years in the Saginaw area. She then taught art for 11 years at Arthur Hill High School, where she won national awards for her teaching. She very much loved her pets and was interested in animal advocacy groups. Susan added an artistic and colorful flair to all aspects of her life and her view of the world. Susan is survived by: two daughters, Kimberly (Anthony) Richter and Marlene Otto-Hall; five grandchildren, Connor, Braelyn, Ridge, Gibbs, and Milo; two sisters-in-law, Lorraine (Doran) Kasper and Janelle Nuzum; a niece, Corinne, and her son, Thomas; a nephew, Eric, and a close cousin, Carol Gordon. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 7, 2016, at the W. L. Case Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road. The Rev. Julie Bailey will officiate with burial in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Chapel on Thursday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the service.
