Passed away at her residence on March 31, 2014. Age 68 years. Susan Elizabeth Covington was born February 27, 1946, in Hemingway, South Carolina, to the late Robert E. and Ruby L. (Phelps) Covington. Susan was an employee of Ardern and Whitney Flowers for more than 30 years. She will be missed by her flower shop family and all the customers she helped through the years. She was an avid reader of books, collected them, and never missed a book sale. She especially loved all the flower shop pets, Max, Millie, Molly, Pancake and her beloved Kitty, whom she adopted as her own. A memorial service will be held 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at the W. L. Case Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Pastor Jim Rathbun will officiate. Private burial of ashes will take place at a later date. Friends may call at the W. L. Case Chapel on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until the time of service.
