Sulema Garcia Rodarte

Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2026, at Covenant Healthcare. Age 79 years.

The daughter of the late Francisco and Simona (Banda) Garcia, Sulema was born August 19, 1947, in Kokomo, Indiana. She married Pedro Rodarte on August 26, 1967; he predeceased her on November 27, 2020. A natural born matriarch, Sulema was an exceptional care taker and homemaker. She was famous for her cooking, especially her Mexican rice, carne asada and tamales. Sulema enjoyed time talking with others and sharing stories of her time as a migrant worker. She also enjoyed traveling to Texas, her family home state.

Sulema is survived by her children: Antonio G. Rodarte, David T. Rodarte, Reuben G. Rodarte and Julia R. (Jeff) Rogalski; three grandchildren: Antonio Luis Rodarte Jr., Alex Ernesto Rodarte, and Mia Kiana Rogalski; siblings: Juan Francisco Garcia, Sofia Corbin, and Jose Garcia, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

Along with her husband Pedro and parents Francisco and Simona, Sulema was predeceased by her siblings: Antonio Garcia and Tina Escobido, and daughter-in-law Sylvia Rodarte.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 5700 Dixie Highway, Saginaw 48601. Burial is set to follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 - 8:00 pm on Monday, September 28, 2026, at the funeral chapel, as well as Tuesday from 11:00 am until the time of service.
