Sue Ellen Young

Passed away Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Wellspring Lutheran Services in Frankenmuth after a lengthy battle with dementia. Age 83 years old. Sue was born February 23, 1943, in Saginaw to the late Sidney and Ardis (Tuke) Lee.

Sue graduated from Saginaw High School, class of 1961. She married James Young on September 8, 1962; he predeceased her on April 14, 2019. She retired from Jacobson's after several years of service.

Surviving are her children Tracy DeMerell, Michael (Michelle) Young, and Kristi (Todd) Simnitch; five grandchildren: Zachary (Karley) DeMerell, Bethani (Greg) Hitchcock; Dalten Simnitch; Christopher Young and Catherine Young; four great grandchildren, Braydon DeMerell, Liberty DeMerell, Warren Hitchcock, and Quinn Hitchcock; several nieces and nephews; three siblings: Connie Bader, Richard Lee, and Kimberly (Bill) Phillips.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd., Saginaw, MI 4860. Rev. Mark Auernhamer will officiate with entombment to follow in Oakwood Mausoleum. Friends are welcome to visit with the the family at the funeral chapel from 11:00 am until the time of service.
