Davis, Stephen Mt. Pleasant, MI (formerly of Hemlock, MI) Passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 29, 2014 with his family at his bedside. Steve was born in Saginaw, Michigan December 17, 1947 the son of the late Dixie (Nothelfer) and Enoch Thomas Davis, Sr. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Mary Jo Myers. They married on July 22, 1977, enjoying a life filled with country music concerts, movies and family time. He is also survived by his two daughters, Melissa and Jeremy Cook and Rebecca and Christopher Kazmirski; four grandchildren, Zadey, Joshua, Jocelyne and Jordan; three brothers and a sister, Enoch Thomas (Alice) Davis, Larry (Linda) Davis, Kathy (Bob) Vesterfelt, Keith (Diane) Davis; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, JoAnn (Tom) Ward, Robert (Jan) Myers and Jack (Kathy) Myers; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Steve was predeceased by his sisters-in-law, Beverly Davis and Rosanne Davis. Steve proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Hornet during Vietnam and was a life member of Hemlock-Merrill VFW Post No. 7302. He enjoyed playing golf, which he took up later in life. The funeral service will take place 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 1, 2014 at St. John XXIII Parish, St. Mary Catholic Church, Hemlock. Rev. Fr. Duane Wachowiak will officiate. Military services will take place at Salt River Cemetery, Shepherd, MI at 3:30 p.m. under the auspices of Hemlock-Merrill VFW, Post No. 7302. Friends may visit with the family at W. L. Case & Company, 201 N. Miller Rd. Thursday from 5:00 8:00 p.m., Friday 2:00 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 8:00 p.m. Friends may also call at the church Saturday from 12:00 noon until time of the service.
