Shirley Jean Oatten of Saginaw, Michigan

Went home to her Lord on Saturday, August 3, 2024. She was born on May 29, 1939, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Herbert and Anna (Brendly) Engelhardt. On April 6, 1957, Shirley married Robert Oatten. They were blessed with 53 years of marriage, until his passing in 2010. Together they had two sons: Craig and Chuck. She enjoyed life to the fullest, helping others whenever she could. God Bless.

Shirley is survived by her son, Chuck (Debb) Oatten; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Oatten; grandchildren: Stephanie Copeman; Steven (Bethany) Oatten; great-grandchildren: Kendall and Kinsley; and a sister, Nancy Frost.

She was preceded in death by her son, Craig; sister, Mary Freier; and brothers, Robert and William Engelhardt.

Honoring Shirley’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 2365 N. Miller Rd., Saginaw, MI 48609. Rev. Kirk Abatelli will officiate. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the church on Thursday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the family c/o Chuck Oatten to be used toward the families wishes.
