Harris, Shirley J. (Leitz) Saginaw, Michigan Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt heard the trumpets and joined her heavenly Father early Sunday, April 14, 2013. Age 80 years. Shirley Jean Leitz was born May 13, 1932, in Saginaw, the daughter of the late Robert and Gertrude (Trinklein) Leitz. She graduated from Arthur Hill High School with the Class of 1949. She married Wilfred J. Harris October 28, 1950; he predeceased her August 9, 2009. Shirley was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and squirrel hunting with the girls. Surviving are her daughter, Maree (Scott) Brechtelsbauer, Saginaw; three grandchildren, Erin (Dustin) Cook, Holt; Jonathan Brechtelsbauer, Grand Rapids; Eric Haley, Fayetteville, NC; four great-grandchildren, Khia, Eric and Maia Haley, and Landon Cook; her sister, Pat (Tom) Haven; one sister-in-law, Irene Leitz; many nieces, nephews and their families. She was predeceased by a son, Randy, a daughter, Patti, three sisters, Beverly Leaman, Kathleen Moore, Geraldine Rappley, and three brothers, Richard, Donald and Robert Leitz. Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 8795 Ederer Road. Rev. Wade Johnston will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Her family will receive friends at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road, from 2:00 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, and then at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
