Shirley (Compson) Bidwell-Schiffer, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2024. Age 93 years. 

Shirley was born in Pontiac, Michigan on November 18, 1930, to the late Floyd J. and Leeta L. (Parker) Compson. She married Herbert R. Bidwell in Flint on April 30, 1955. He predeceased her on April 10, 1995. She married Jerry B. Schiffer on February 10, 1996. He predeceased her on June 13, 1999. 

Shirley graduated from Flint Central High School and attended Flint Community College and Central Michigan University. She was a member and Deacon of Second Presbyterian Church. She retired as Office Manager of Westlund Child Guidance Clinic in 1997. She had been a Red Cross Volunteer at the V.A. Hospital for 11 years. She was a Charter Member of the Temple Theatre Organ Club, Past President of the Does of #47, Treasurer of the Temple Theatre Project, member of Germania Town and Country Club, and volunteered with the Child Abuse and Neglect Council. She was very actively involved at her church and the City Rescue Mission. She was an avid golfer and traveler.

Shirley is survived by one son, Ronald Bidwell (Janet), one daughter-in-law, Ute Bidwell, and three grandchildren Robert Bidwell (Brenda), Steven Bidwell, Rachel Bidwell; and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother Kenneth and a son Robert.

In accordance with Shirley’s wishes, cremation has taken place and her remains will be entombed in the Oakwood Mausoleum. Arrangements were entrusted to W.L.
