Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Wellspring Lutheran Services Frankenmuth Campus, with her family at her side. Age 94 years.

The daughter of the late William J. and Marie L. (Majeske) Becker, Shirley was born on October 12, 1930, in Saginaw, Michigan. Shirley married the love of her life, James R. Brown, on June 25, 1966. They shared many wonderful years together. He survives her. She worked at Lufkin Rule for many years of loyal and dedicated service. Shirley was a member of Bridgeport Community Church, its Guild Group, and the Red Hats Society. She had a passion for shopping, particularly at thrift stores where she found unique treasures. Shirley enjoyed trips to the casino and tending to her garden. Her role as a wife, mother, and grandmother was a profound journey that she embraced with love and devotion. Above all, Shirley cherished the time spent with her family.

Surviving besides her husband, James “Jim” Brown, are their daughters, Mary (Larry) Carter, Julie Brown; grandchildren, Eric Carter, James Carter, Cory Carter, Nori Carlton, Matthew Carlton. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Besides her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Robert S. Carlton; brother, Billy Becker.

Funeral service will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603. Rev. Rob Ashmall will officiate with entombment to follow at Oakwood Memorial Mausoleum. Friends may visit the family from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral chapel.
