Scott C. Colpean

Thomas Township, Michigan

Beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on, Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at MyMichigan Medical Center Saginaw. Age 68 years.

The son of the late James H. and Patricia A. (Tenny) Colpean, Scott was born on June 28, 1958, in Saginaw, Michigan. He proudly graduated from Dwight D. Eisenhower High School with the class of 1976. Scott married Shari D. Dahl on April 28, 1990. They shared many wonderful years together. She survives him. Scott worked at Bill Knapp’s for 25 years, while working at Bill Knapp’s he also worked part time at UPS during the Christmas rush, followed by 19 years at Swan Haven Manor. He was a former member of St. Helen Church and School and currently attended St. Mark Lutheran Church. On May 6, 2023, he was blessed with the gift of a liver transplant at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, for which he and his family were deeply grateful. He was an avid golfer. Above all, Scott cherished the time spent with his family, especially camping. Scott will be remembered for his dry sense of humor.

Surviving besides his wife, Shari Colpean; are their son, James “Ramona” Colpean; two brothers, Timothy and Cathy Colpean, Craig and Leslie Colpean; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Kathy Colpean, Judy and John Ruppel, Martin and Cheryl Dahl, Sandra and Timothy Nommensen. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Besides his parents, James and Patricia Colpean, Scott was preceded in death by parents-in-law, Martin and Betty Dahl; niece, Catilyn Colpean. The family would like to thank the nurses at St. Francis home and John Stemple and Evelyn Dotson for all their love and support they have given to Scott and his family.

Honoring Scott’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 2565 N. Miller Rd, Saginaw, MI 48609. Rev. Kirk Abatelli will officiate. Friends may call at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 201 N. Miller Rd, Saginaw, MI 48609, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at the church.
