     Passed away peacefully On Tuesday, January 9, 2024, surrounded by love with her family under hospice care.

 

Sandra was pre-deceased by her husband of 53 years, James E Hooper,  her parents Roy and Thelma Caudill, brother Jerry “Joe” Caudill (surviving are Vicky, children Shannon and Joseph), brother Gary Caudill (surviving are Prudy, children Sally, Sarah, and Stephie).

Surviving are son Andrew Hooper (Karen, children Chris (Julie) and Kati(Tom Heron)), daughter Susan Pelley (Ron, children Alyssa(Brian Novak), Alex(Dimitri Tolar-Key). The first Great Grandson, Wesley, arrived in March of 2022 to Alex and Dimitri Tolar-Key. A new Great Grandson expected with Chris and Julie Hooper in May 2024 as well as a Great Granddaughter in May 2024 for Alex and Dimitri Tolar-Key.

 

Sandra was born Sandra Louise Caudill in 1938 to parents Roy and Thelma Caudill of Land O’ Lakes, Wisconsin. She attended and graduated from Watersmeet High School where she met James E Hooper. The 2 were married on November 30th, 1957.  They moved to Saginaw where Jim secured a teaching position at Arthur Hill High School in 1958. They built a house in Shields, MI and moved to their lifelong residence in 1964. Sandra enjoyed golf, and bowling, and Sandra and Jim were heavily active in the local Orchid Society where they designed and competed in Orchid shows throughout the tri-county area. Sandra was active in many social activities and loved playing cards and games with family and friends in the area. She made many deep friendships in the neighborhood that lasted until her passing. Sandra was a family person who coveted spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandson which always included sharing her sense of humor, warmth, love, and great food!  Later in life she took up quilting and created many beautiful works which reflected her artistic abilities. Sandra and Jim began spending winters in Daytona Beach, Florida where family and friends congregated as well. They enjoyed walking the beach and scouring flea markets.

    

In accordance with Sandra’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family memorial will be held.
