Sondra stepped into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, January 28, 2022. She was born on June 24, 1949, the daughter of the late Ernest Hinterman and Peggy Hinterman Railling.
Sondra was a 1967 graduate of Merrill High School and several years later earned a degree from Delta College. She spent her early adult years residing in Saginaw, then moved to Greensboro, North Carolina before going to Zephyr Hills, Florida to help care for her mother and her husband, Jim Railling.
She was very artistic and enjoyed singing, had a keen interest in architecture, knitting, and making cross-stitch pictures. She also loved to travel via train, and seeing the country using her Amtrak pass. Sondra told her nephews and nieces that the best way to travel is on a train because you could see more landscape. She enjoyed the social aspect of riding a train, also, making new friends as she traveled. She was a lifelong follower of her Lord, Jesus Christ and highly valued her church family and friends, participating in many areas of church family life.
Sondra is survived by her sister, Holly (Lloyd) VanMeter; brothers, Chris (Marcia) Hinterman and Ted (Juanita) Hinterman; step-brothers and sisters, James Railling, Jr, Debra (Doug) Akright, Larry Railling, Dennis Railling, Shelley (Ken) Beaver and Corey Railling; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest, mother, Peggy and step-father, Jim Railling.
Sandra will be interred at the Lakefield Township cemetery with her father and mother. A celebration of life service is being planned for a later date.
