Sandra Kay Knoodle "Sandy"

Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, with her family at her side; at the age of 75 years.

The daughter of the late Roy and Clara (Harris) Knoodle, Sandy was born on October 12, 1947, in Standish, Michigan. She graduated Arenac Eastern High School with the class of 1965. Sandy continued her education and obtained her RN and Bachelor’s in Nursing from Delta College. She worked at Covenant HealthCare, formerly Saginaw General Hospital for 40 years of loyal and dedicated service. Sandy also continued caring for patients at Davenport Manor, formerly Luther Manor for 10 years. She was an avid reader. Sandy was a proud self-taught seamstress, she enjoyed scrapbooking, and crafting various projects. She was a frequent traveler through Amish Country. Above all, Sandy cherished the time spent with her family and loved ones.

Surviving are two daughters, one son: Tameko “Tammy” (Gary) Stead, Kelly Young, Daniel Norris Knoodle Simmons; grandchildren: Lindsey Erin (Cameron) Blaker, Marcus DeShon (Katrina) Knoodle, Jacob Michael Young, Olivia Nichole Young, Deja N.C. Simmons, Daniel Norris Simmons II, Lucas Alexander Young, Nicholas Clifford Young; great-grandchildren: Jackson Wade Blaker, Virginia Sue Blaker, Georgia Kay Blaker, Iverson Thea Knoodle, Jameson Eron Blaker, Damian Wayne Knoodle, Aurora Nicole Simmons; her beloved cats: Lucy & Ethel; very close and dear friends: Martie Abbott, Linda Leja, Karen Abram. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents: Roy and Clara Knoodle; the father of her children: Clifford Norris Simmons; and her dear friend: Marlene Hopson.

Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 2, 2023, at W. L. Case and Company, 4480 Mackinaw Road, Saginaw, Michigan 48603. Rev. Rob Richards will officiate. Honoring Sandra’s wishes, cremation will follow. Friends may visit the family from 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 1, 2023, and from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral chapel.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the wishes of the family, in c/o Tameko “Tammy” Stead.
