Sandra Kay Glaza

Sandra K. Glaza, age 73, of Saginaw, Michigan, died on July 21, 2025, at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.

Sandra Kay Kozfkay was born in Harbor Beach, Michigan on October 2, 1951, to the late Edward and Elsie (Gwisdalla) Kozfkay. She graduated from Harbor Beach High School in 1969, and then completed two years of college level banking classes. She worked at Bank of the Commonwealth (now Comerica Bank) in Detroit until she married her husband, Gary Glaza, on June 24, 1972. After they were married, she continued working in the banking business at Second National Bank until 1988. In November of 1988, Sandy and Gary adopted their son Scott. At that point she moved on to the best job she ever had, which was being a Mom and Homemaker. Sandy was a dedicated and loving person, and she loved being a Mom. She went out of her way to make others feel special and loved. She was the most selfless person anyone ever knew, and she sacrificed her pleasures to help others. She took great pride in the cleanliness of her home, and enjoyed tending to her flowers. She loved to read all types of material, was a die-hard fan of the Detroit Tigers, and loved going to the casino. Sandy loved traveling, with Switzerland being her favorite destination.

Sandra is survived by her husband Gary Glaza; son Scott Glaza of Bellevue, WA; brother Allan Kozfkay of Harbor Beach, and sisters Marilyn (James) Gosdzinski of Trenton and Carol (Daniel) Herriman of Harbor Beach; mother-in-law Arline Symons of Bad Axe; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: David (Pauline) Glaza of Waterville, OH, Valerie (Peter) Kuzma of Troy, Sharon Kozfkay of Harbor Beach. She is also survived by 14 nieces and nephews, and 16 great-nieces and great-nephews.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Elsie Kozfkay; brother Daniel Kozfkay; father-in-law Stanley Glaza; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Clifford (Barbara) Glaza, and brother-in-law Larry Treposki.
