It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sandra Kay Ellsworth, who peacefully departed this life on Sunday, March 29, 2026. Born on May 14, 1940, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Dwight "Hank" and Mary "Ruby" Beckmann, Sandra's warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her. Her departure leaves a void that will be deeply felt by her family and friends.
Sandra lived a life marked by care, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to others. Her motherly nature and kind heart were evident in everything she did, making her a cherished figure in her community. .
Sandra dedicated her professional life to the communications industry. However, her true passions extended far beyond her career. She found joy in serving others, becoming a valued member of the Embroiderers Guild of America and even leading the White Pine Chapter as its president. Her artistic talents and dedication to craftsmanship brought beauty and connection to those around her.
Additionally, Sandra's commitment to her faith was demonstrated through her active involvement in her church, where she served on various committees and boards. As a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, she exemplified the values of sisterhood and service. Sandra's love and care extended to her family, who were always at the center of her world.
Sandra is survived by her daughter, Heather (Kurt) Ballien, and son, Joshua (Carol) Ellsworth; grandchildren, Cameron, Adam (Skiler), and Devin Ballien, Kearstyn (Joseph) Spencer, and Noah and Liam Ellsworth; her sister, Judy Susalski; Sister-in-law, Pamela (Thomas) Graham; brothers-in-law, Hiram "Terry" Ellsworth Jr, and David Ellsworth; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared.
Alongside her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold Ellsworth, who passed in 2024; her mother- and father-in-law, Hiram "Hommie" and Ethel Ellsworth Sr; her sister and brother-in-law, Pat (Larry) Lynch; Brothers-in-law Robert Susalski and Roger (Connie) Ellsworth; and sisters-in-law, Lois and Dianne Ellsworth.
Her family will remember her not only for her love but also for the example she set as a devoted wife, mother, and friend. Sandra's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her spirit and legacy of kindness will continue to inspire. She will be remembered for her unwavering generosity, her dedication to her community, and the love she poured into her family and friends.
A funeral service will take place on Friday, April 3, 2026 at 5:00pm at W.L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603. Friends are welcome to visit with the family starting at 1:00pm until the time of the service. Pastor Ron Compton will officiate.
