Our loving mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 8, 2019. Age 88 years. Sally was born on October 30, 1930, daughter of the late Joseph and Beatrice (Bishop) LaPorte, in Saginaw. She married the love of her life, Richard L. Horn, on July 29, 1950. He predeceased her on August 9, 2018. Sally was a graduate of Saginaw High School, Class of 1948 and worked on many of the class reunions. She was a member of the Shrine Jesterettes of Michigan. Sally loved animals, especially her four dogs. She enjoyed caring and cooking for her family. Sally enjoyed dancing, watching and feeding birds, traveling, playing cards with her close friends, fishing and spending time in AuGres at their summer residence with Dick. Sally will be missed by her children, Richard D. (Mary) Horn of Ann Arbor, Victoria S. (Steve) Kelley of Saginaw and Michael Horn of Saginaw; her grandchildren, Kacy (Todd) Banning, Christy Horn, Erin Kelley and Lindsay OConnell; her great grandchildren, Emma, Ella and Brody Banning, Leah OConnell and Greyson, soon to arrive; daughter-in-law, Cindy Horn, sister-in-law, June Bell; also many nieces and nephews, including her very special niece, Michelle Hitchcock. She was predeceased by her grandson, Dan OConnell, her mother and father-in-law, David and Ida Horn, brother and sister-in-law, Joe (Bernice) LaPorte, sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty Ann (Ed) Mocny, Doree (Fred) LaClair and Don Bell. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Southern Care Hospice, especially Janelle, Kolette and Bill for their tender care of Sally, and to the caring staff at New Hope Valley. We will never forget the loving care you gave our mom. Funeral service will take place at 12:00 Noon, on Monday, May 13, 2019, at W. L. Case and Company, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Steve Rau will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
