Sally Jane Baldauf

Our dear sister, aunt, friend, and neighbor, Sally Baldauf, passed away at her home on July 7, just days after celebrating her 77th birthday on the Fourth of July.

Sally was the third daughter of Donald and Anna (Kapusto) Baldauf. She was raised on a 100-acre dairy farm, where she shared a close bond with her family and developed a deep appreciation for rural life. Growing up, she actively participated in 4-H and various agricultural competitions alongside her siblings. Sally graduated from Hemlock High School with the Class of 1966. Soon after, she continued the family tradition of playing on the volleyball and softball teams.

She dedicated over 37 years to a career in banking, starting as a teller and rising to a management position through her hard work and commitment. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Sally was an active member of her community. She served for many years on the Fremont Township Board of Review and as a poll worker.

Sally was also a creative spirit. She was a proud member of the Lakefield Quilting Group, where she and her friends crafted quilts for community members and veterans. She loved gathering with her neighborhood card group, where she shared laughter, snacks, and lasting friendships.

Travel was one of Sally’s great joys where she explored much of the country and ventured around the world. In later years, she enjoyed quieter pleasures like bingo and trips to the casino. A devoted animal lover, she rescued two kittens from a collapsed barn; they became her cherished companions and “little helpers” around the house.

Sally had a generous heart and was always ready to help those in need. Throughout her life, she lovingly cared for her mother, her aunt, and unselfishly helped manage the affairs of her niece and nephew.

Sally is survived by her sister, Mary Tack; nieces Kristen Palmer, Susan Cadwall, Sarah Piotrowski, and Molly Baldauf. Also, she is survived by nephews Sam Baldauf and Kevin Tack. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Don, her sister Barb, and her brother-in-law Earl Tack.

In honor of her compassion and love for animals, donations can be made to Amazing Grace Animal Rescue in Saginaw, MI. A celebration of life will take place at a later date announced in the following weeks.

Arrangements are entrusted to W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603. Please share your thoughts and memories with her family by visiting www.casefuneralhome.com.
