Rosalind “Roz” Ann Blakes of Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Saturday, August 1, 2026. She was 63 years old. Rosalind Ann Blakes was born on June 4, 1963, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Oliver Calvin and Mary Ann Nutt. Roz was a proud 1981 graduate of Buena Vista High School. Following graduation, she began her working career at CAC as a secretary. Roz also worked as a home health aide for many years lovingly taking care of others as if they were her own. The role of her lifetime, one she treasured and cherished above all others, was to be a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and sister. She was a religious and spiritual person and a former member of St. Rita Catholic Church, St. Joseph Catholic Church, and most recently was a member of the Baptist Faith. An avid reader, Roz enjoyed reading all books, especially anything to do in the medical field. She also enjoyed spending time watching game shows, soap operas, shopping, and going out to dinner with family and friends. Above all, Roz adored spending time and visiting with her grandchildren, especially going to the bowling alley and zoo. They truly made her heart feel happy and full.

Surviving are a daughter, Keisha M. Bulger; four grandchildren: Ty’Kandria L. Ingram, TaKeeya Z. Ingram, Ki’Mariae J. Bell, and Keimond J. Bell; three great-grandchildren; one sister and three brothers: Rosette M. Blakes, the late Charles E. Blakes, Michael T. Blakes, and Dennis C. Nutt. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends, too numerous to mention, but held closely to her heart.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Daisy M. Jenkins.

A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026, at the W. L. Case and Company, 5700 Dixie Highway, Saginaw, MI 48601. Pastor Abraham Olorunlowo will officiate. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
