Ronald W. "Ron" Kartz

Beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend passed away on Friday, December 11, 2020 at his home, with his family at his side. At the age of 79 years.

The son of the late John and Mary (Baldys) Kartz, Ron was born on May 31, 1941 in Buena Vista, Michigan. He graduated from Frankenmuth High School. Ron was formerly married to Ladeea Snelenberger, she survives him, and preceded in death by his life partner Mabel E. Pickell. He worked at Rohde Brothers Excavating, Inc. for many years of loyal and dedicated service until retiring in 1998. Ron was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, ice fishing, gardening, farming, working on old tractors and old steam engines. Ron’s passions included working, building and crafting anything with wood. Above all, Ron cherished the time spent with his family.

Surviving are two daughters and two sons: MaryAnn Kartz; Ronny (Jennifer) Kartz; Tami Kartz (Matt Mills); Donny Kartz; Herby Pickell; ten grandchildren: Naomi; Kaylin; Aylah; Amanda “Gecko”; Aubrey; Alisa; Joshua; Britney; Austin; Rhiannon; five great-grandchildren; one sister and two brothers: Dorothy Kartz; Robert “Bob” (JoAnn) Kartz; Johnny (Dorothy) Kartz. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Besides his parents, Ron is preceded in death by one brother: Harry Kartz.

A private family committal service will take place at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel.
