Passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, with his family at his side, at the age of 53 years.
Ron was born on August 27, 1972, son of Debra (Hetzman) and the late Michael Zazo, in Saginaw. He was a graduate of Aurthur Hill High School, Class of 1990. Ron earned a Journeyman Ironworker Certification with Union Local #25 in 1997. He obtained a career with Woodruff Contracting. With dedication and hard work, he worked his way through the ranks starting as a Journeyman then moving to Foreman and recently as Job Bidder.
Ron’s competitive spirit found joy in playing poker, chess and throwing darts. He was even a member of the American Dart Association. An avid sports fan, Ron could be always be found cheering on his favorite teams; the Detroit Tigers, Lions, and Michigan Wolverines. He enjoyed vacationing in Beulah, Michigan. Above all Ron cherished treasured time spent with his family, whether it was playing one of his favorite games, cheering on one of his favorite teams, or grilling delicious food while drinking an ice cold Coors.
Ron is survived by his children, Alexander Zazo and his fiancé, Ally Kinasz and Brianna (Seth) Hottois; grandson, Waylon Hottois; uncles and aunt, Tom Zazo, Jim (Dee) Zazo and Brenda Bernard; niece, Miranda Zazo; special cousin, Danielle Bernard; his best friend, Frank Ramos and family. He was predeceased by his sister, Sandra K. Hinkley, grandmother Donna Zazo, aunt Linda Zazo, uncle, Ronald Zazo, uncles Steven and Stewart Hetzman.
Funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m., on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Pastor Jim Doran will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday at the Chapel from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Covenant At Home Hospice, or to the family in care of Alex Zazo.
