RONALD W. HOWE, age 85 of St. Charles, Michigan passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at Covenant Glen of Frankenmuth, MI. The son of Orville and Rose (Beagle)Howe was born July 26,1937 in Saginaw, Michigan. After graduating from Hemlock High School in 1955, he served in the U.S. National Guard. He married Janice M. Keel, November 2, 1957. She predeceased him September 19, 2012. His passion for farming began at a young age and was still active on the family farm. Ronald was a former Director at Community State Bank of St. Charles for nearly 30 years and served as Board Chairman for 6 years. He was passionate for Michigan State Basketball, attending games with his friend, Bill Guilford, and socializing with his many friends at the Rustic Inn, Bringer Inn and Coty’s Landing. He was a lifelong member of Nelson United Methodist Church.
Surviving are daughter, Rhonda (Joseph) Ivan, Freeland and son, James (Gale) Howe, Frankenmuth; four grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; Special neighbors Donald and David LaClair; brother and sister-in-law Robert (Marianne) Howe and brother-in-law, Gerald Mallory; several nieces and nephews.
A brother, Raymond Howe, predeceased him.
The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. Reverend Andrew Howe will officiate. Reverend Rob Richards will preside over Committal at Fremont Township Cemetery. Ron’s family will receive friends at the Chapel from 2:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 28, 2023 and at the Chapel on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Nelson United Methodist Church or Wellspring Hospice. Ron’s family wishes to thank the staff at Covenant Glen and Wellspring Hospice for the loving care he received.
