It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, brother-in-law, cousin, uncle, and friend, Ronald Jean Henderson, who left us on May 22, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on October 24, 1942, in Anna, Illinois, to Harold and Mildred (Dawes) Henderson, Ronald was a lifelong beacon of kindness, warmth, and generosity.
Ronald will always be remembered for his welcoming spirit and his remarkable ability to connect with others. He made friends effortlessly, offering compassion, humor, and genuine care to everyone he met. His giving nature touched countless lives, leaving behind a legacy defined by positivity, empathy, and an unwavering love for people. His imagination bloomed from a lifelong love of books, each one opening a new world to him. He adored music, and in his younger years, he embraced the excitement of fast cars and the freedom of the road.
He is survived by his sister, Debra Sharp; his brother, Larry (Lynn Marie) Henderson; sisters‑in‑law Cindy, Barb, Wendy, and Amy; his stepdaughters, Tammy and Nina Jackson; his step‑grandchildren, Holly, James, and Jessica; his nieces, Michelle Gilles, Kristina Young, Angela Young, and a very special niece who brought him comfort and companionship in his final days, Jenny (Rod) Rohn; his nephew, Michael Young, and a special nephew, Joey Jackson; fourteen great‑nieces and great‑nephews; his best friend, Richard (Sylvia) Cole; and many others whom he held close to his heart.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Charla; his brother‑in‑law, James Sharp; and his dear friend, Hilario Gonzalez.
Ronald’s life was a testament to the power of kindness and the beauty of human connection. He had a gift for making others feel seen, valued, and special. Those fortunate enough to know him were truly blessed, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
In accordance with Ronald’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, at St. Andrew Cemetery & Mausoleum Chapel, 381 St. Andrews Rd, Saginaw, MI 48638, at 10:30 am. Family will receive guests beginning at 9:30am until the time of service. Ronald will be laid to rest following the service. The family invites guests to join them the following day for a dinner in honor of Ronald. The dinner will take place on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at the Friends for Recovery Center , 2720 W Genessee Ave, Saginaw, MI 48602, at 2:00pm.
