Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Covenant HealthCare – Cooper, with his family at his side. Age 88 years.
The son of the late Leonard and Julia (Riley) Schneider, Robert was born on June 10, 1937, in Saginaw, Michigan. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School, with the class of 1955. Robert married Barbara A. Steinke on August 25, 1956. They shared 69 wonderful years together. She survives him. Robert was a lifetime member of U.A. Local 85 Plumbers and Steamfitters. He was a member of St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Court and Bond Streets, Saginaw. Robert enjoyed camping, fishing, and was an avid cyclist. He had a passion for tinkering and building, always enjoying the process of creating with his hands. Above all, Robert cherished the time spent with his family and loved ones.
Surviving besides his wife, Barbara Schneider; sons and daughter, Brian (Barbara L.) Schneider, Steven (Lori) Schneider, Craig (Shelly) Schneider, Matthew Schneider (Shelley Ritchie), Beth (Brad) Eurich; grandchildren, Justin (Christy) Schneider, Brent (Sara) Schneider, Anna (Caleb) Behrmann, Austin Schneider, Cameron (Sara) Schneider, Mallory (fiancé, Jake Nuechterlein) Schneider, Benjamin (Lauren) Schneider, Molly (Josh) Thielker, Zachary Schneider, Gabraelle (Tyler) Foune, Caitlyn Eurich; eleven great-grandchildren with two on the way; sister, Donna McCargar. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Robert was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Leonard Schneider Jr, David Schneider, Phyllis Steinke, Marlene Hester, Caroline Cooke, Shirley Koch, and Loretta Brown.
Funeral service will take place at 11:00a.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603. Rev. David Naumann will officiate with burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral chapel. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church.
